On September 26, 2026, TekSeries hosted a webinar focused on career development and opportunities for young engineers, particularly women, in Nigeria.

The webinar focused on career development and opportunities for young engineers, particularly women, in Nigeria. TekSeries HR Adviser, Ms. Ogechi introduced the session, discussing the journey and challenges faced by graduates. Jessica-Ann, a FUTO Mechanical Engineering graduate, spoke about women in engineering, emphasizing the need for more female participation and the importance of confidence, competence, and resilience. Udochi Metu, a FUTO Electrical and Electronics Engineering graduate, discussed the skill gaps in engineering education and the importance of practical experience, certifications, and continuous learning.

Finally, Mr. Victor, Head of talent acquisition at ARM, provided insights into the job market, highlighting the need for value, skills over titles, and the importance of LinkedIn and networking. He advised on in-demand technical skills such as .NET, React, and AI for software engineers, and certifications like COREN and NSE for mechanical and electrical engineers. The session aimed to equip young engineers with the knowledge and mindset needed to thrive in their careers.
