Job Summary
We are seeking a competent and proactive Occupational Health Officer to support the delivery of occupational health services within the hospital.
The role involves providing clinical care, conducting workplace health assessments, and promoting employee well-being through preventive and monitoring initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Attend to staff and clients within the Occupational Health unit
Conduct basic clinical and diagnostic investigations (e.g., ECG, audiometry, vital signs monitoring)
Provide first aid and emergency care where required
Carry out periodic health screenings and fitness-to-work assessments
Maintain accurate medical records, reports, and incident documentation
Monitor workplace health risks and recommend appropriate interventions
Drive health promotion initiatives and staff awareness programs
Support compliance with occupational health and safety standards and regulations
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Physiology or Registered Nurse (RN/RM) with a valid license
Relevant HSE certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH)
Minimum of 2 – 4 years’ experience in occupational health or clinical practice
Experience conducting diagnostic tests, such as ECG and audiometry, is an added advantage
Skills & Competencies:
Strong clinical and assessment skills
Good knowledge of occupational health practices
Excellent documentation and reporting ability
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High level of professionalism and confidentiality
Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
