JOB SUMMARY

To provide safe, secure and efficient air transport for the Company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Lead Company aviation staff and contractors in Port-Harcourt and Warri to deliver EP “Must Wins” for Logistics.
Provide safe and efficient offshore/onshore helicopter services and manage company aircraft, heliports, helidecks and support facilities, in full compliance with national regulations and IOGP 690 series of standards.
Ensure that all Company aviation staff and contractors strive for “Goal Zero” and commit to obeying the nine IOGP Life Saving Rules.
Hold and manage Company helicopter contracts in accordance with the Company competence and business requirements
Oversee and prioritise helicopter operations, striving to achieve optimal use of resources.
Liaise effectively with customers and contractors, identifying task requirements and explaining any limitations due to weather, aircraft resources etc.
Liaise with NCAA and other national aviation agencies to maintain appropriate licences/permits and approvals.
Participate in joint industry initiatives to develop SAR, Multilateration, GPS approaches and automatic weather reporting.
Collaborate with Logistics Integration Management to exploit all opportunities for resource sharing, ensuring effective cost recovery.
Provide timely assistance for emergency medevac and evacuation operations
Ensure inspection of helipads, helidecks and other aviation facilities in accordance with national and IOGP 697 requirements.
Collaborate with the remotely piloted aircraft service (RPAS) SME and stakeholders to ensure RPAS operations comply with the NCAA regulations and maintaining the IOGP 696 standard.
Carry out routine monitoring of RPAS operators’ progress.
Provide technical support to RPAS providers, by integrating drones into helicopter, pipeline/security surveillance and identifying systems optimisation opportunities within their deployed tools/equipment to drive maximum value to Company.
Support audit programmes relating to aviation contractors, heliports, helipads and helidecks and assist asset owners in closing out audit actions.
Provide advice and support during aviation-related incident investigations and remedial action programmes.
Liaise with industry stakeholders on safety, technical and audit matters.
Maintain comprehensive records of aviation audits, recommendations, incidents, findings, actions and deviations using company tools.
Provide aviation technical input for new projects and upgrade of existing facilities.
Hold company air services contract meetings at least quarterly and facilitate annual contract business performance reviews (BPRs).
Maintain SLA/CTR, chargeback and cross-charge on monthly basis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Current or former holder of Air Transport Pilot’s Licence (Helicopters) and Instrument Rating, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience as a commercial pilot. OR, Current or former Approved Maintenance Certificate holder Part 66. B1 or B2 with at least 10 years’ experience in aircraft maintenance. OR Safety/Quality Manager, with at least 10 years aviation experience.
Experience as a training captain, flight safety officer, management pilot, chief engineer, S&Q manager or air accident investigator.
Experience of negotiating and managing contracts.
Experience as an aviation adviser or auditor.
