Job Summary
The Video Content Marketer is responsible for developing, producing, and optimizing high-impact video content that drives brand awareness, engagement, customer acquisition, and retention for Sharperly. This role focuses on leveraging video as a core growth channel, translating marketing goals into compelling visual storytelling across digital platforms.
Working closely with the Content Marketing Officer, Product, and Design teams, the Video Content Marketer will create content that supports go-to-market strategies, communicates product value, and enhances the customer journey across all touchpoints.
This role requires a strong understanding of digital content trends, platform algorithms, and audience behavior, with the ability to balance creativity and performance. The ideal candidate has experience creating content within fintech, tech, or digital product environments.
Key Responsibilities
Video Strategy & Planning
Develop and execute a video content strategy aligned with Sharperly’s growth, brand, and marketing objectives.
Identify opportunities to use video across the customer lifecycle, awareness, acquisition, activation, retention, and advocacy.
Translate product features, campaigns, and insights into engaging video concepts and formats.
Content Creation & Production
Plan, script, shoot, and edit high-quality video content for platforms including social media, website, email, and ads.
Produce a mix of content formats such as explainer videos, product demos, motion graphics, testimonials, educational content, and short-form social videos.
Ensure all video content aligns with brand identity, tone, and messaging.
Comfortably appear on camera and serve as the face/voice of the brand where necessary, delivering content in a confident, engaging, and authentic manner.
Performance & Optimization
Analyze video performance metrics (views, engagement, CTR, conversions) to continuously improve content effectiveness.
Optimize video content for different platforms (e.g., Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn) based on audience behavior and algorithm trends.
Conduct A/B testing on formats, hooks, messaging, and distribution strategies.
Campaign Support & Collaboration
Collaborate with Engineering, Product, Design, and Marketing teams to support campaigns with video content.
Contribute to product launches, feature announcements, and marketing campaigns through compelling video storytelling.
Work with external creators, agencies, or freelancers where necessary.
Content Distribution & Channel Growth
Manage and grow Sharperly’s video presence across key digital channels, ensuring consistent publishing schedules and content calendars.
Stay up to date with video trends, platform updates, and competitor content strategies to inform distribution and growth decisions.
Identify and experiment with new platforms, formats, and creative approaches to expand reach, engagement, and overall content performance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field.
3-5+ years experience in video content creation, content marketing, or digital marketing roles.
Proven experience creating high-performing video content for social and digital platforms.
Strong video production skills (scripting, shooting, editing) or the ability to direct and manage production.
Proficiency in video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, After Effects).
Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and content optimization strategies.
Experience with analytics tools and performance tracking for content.
Understanding of fintech, B2B, or digital products is an advantage.
Creative storyteller with strong attention to detail and brand consistency.
Data-driven mindset with the ability to test, learn, and iterate quickly.
